Quick Tips to Organize Coupons & Receipts

August 1, 2015 By LovingOurHome.com Leave a Comment

The best way to save money, ensure you’re getting the best deals and also track your spending is to have easy access to your receipts and coupons. Here are a few tips for how to organize coupons and receipts in your purse or bag.

Coupons1) Purchase a few coupon holders at your local Dollar Store to use for both coupons. When labeling your holder, arrange coupons by the general layout of the supermarket. For example, frozen food coupons together, aisle foods together and all household products together.

2) Go through your coupon holder every month to clear out expired coupons and make room for new ones.

3) To keep your store receipts in order, take a mailing envelope and label it with the type of store or business (home improvement, grocery store, pet shop, restaurant, gas station etc). Make yourself get into the habit of placing the receipts in the appropriate envelope each time you come home from shopping so that you can always accept them for returns.

4) Keep your business receipts separate from personal ones in their own envelope and be sure to write down the purpose of each purchase.

5) For major purchases it’s a great idea to make a photo copy of the receipt for your records. Most receipts ink fade rapidly, way before the return policy expires. This is a great way to ensure proof of purchase.

6) If you don’t always carry your purse with you, keep your coupon holders and receipt envelopes in your car so that you always have a chance to save some $$.

3 Good iPhone/iPad Docking Systems Under $75

March 7, 2015 By LovingOurHome.com Leave a Comment

Home stereo systems have really changed — there has been an explosion of new technology in just a short period of time.  No longer do you need a bulky home stereo system with large speakers to enjoy music at home.  Nowadays, most people have an iPhone or iPod that stores your music or at least allows you to access hundreds of music stations from your device.  I decided to catch up with the times and search for an affordable, slender and stylish docking system to play and enjoy my music.  I searched on Amazon.com and here are 3 Good iPhone/iPad Docking Systems that I found that cost under $75.

I like this affordable tabletop docking system because it is a docking system and a clock radio.  Sony has been a well known brand for electronics for many years.  So I believe the sound will be outstanding!

iLuv Aud 5® Premium High-Fidelity Full-Range Lightning Dock and Speaker

31yZ8-jyAbL._SX425_I really like this iLuv docking system. It’s the basic desktop device that someone with an iPhone would be looking for. It has high fidelity speakers, a passive radiator and should easily fit right in with your room’s decor.  The sound comes from four locations on the speaker for the best audio.

This tower docking system has some great reviews.  It not only works with the iPhone but is compatible with Android tablets/ Smart Phones and a whole lot more. It’s ideal for a get-together — it’s easy to interchange your device with your friend’s devices when you have a gathering at your house.

AR+SOUND AR1004BK Bluetooth LED Lights Tall Tower Stereo Speaker System with Built-In Radio, Docking Station and Remote Control (Black)

It has four separate (visible) speaker locations and is compatible with wide variety of devices, including iPhones, Android phones, Galaxy smartphones, MP3 players and even the Amazon tablet. It also is compatible with Bluetooth technology. The attractive LED lights make it perfect for a big party with friends!

Since I’m looking for an iPhone/iPad Docking Systems under $75 that I can take around the house with me, I’m look at the first option (iLuv Aud 5®) for my home. Happy shopping!

Tips for How to Make Grocery Shopping Quick and Easy

December 5, 2014 By LovingOurHome.com Leave a Comment

I use to spend most of my Saturdays shopping for groceries. I was so tired when I got back home that I did not even want to take the groceries into the house. So, I came up with a plan that drastically cut much of my shopping time, by at least 60%. EUREKA!!!

First, I never leave home without a shopping list. I first look through my pantry to see what I am lacking.

Next, I research all of my local grocery circulars to locate the best sale on those items. Then on a piece of paper, I put the store names on top (no more than three or four) and proceed to write down what I need from each store.

To make my experience even less time consuming, I write my list of needs according to each store’s layout. For example, I begin in the deli then proceed directly to the fruits and vegetables, so on and so forth. More importantly, I avoid that aisles that I don’t need to walk down, which saves massive time and money.

My last stop (if needed at that store) is to visit the freezer section. Finally, I proceed to check out and then I am off to the next store.

Each store should take no more than 15-20 minutes of shopping time if planned out correctly. Hopefully, by following my tips, you will be amazed at how much time you have left to enjoy your day and relax!
